Sept. 25, 2019 - Prayer Tip

Updated: Jan 24

The fathers and mothers we are called to honor are much more than the people who bear the name of Mom or Dad. This week, while we explore this commandment, let’s pray for them all!

Lord, We pray for all the fathers and mothers, the ones we know and the ones we will never know; the ones who were always there, and the ones who never made it; the ones who held our hands and the ones who held us in their hearts from a distance; the ones who offered words of wisdom, and the ones who struggled to find words at all; the ones who gave us everything, and the ones who believed they had nothing to give; the ones who always have it together, and the ones who just hope the kids went to school wearing shoes today; the ones who parent alone, and the ones who parent together; and the ones who parent the whole neighborhood; the ones who hold little ones, and the ones who hold grown-up children in their hearts; the aunts and uncles, and friends, and big sisters and brothers, and everyone who tried to make a difference, Lord God, we ask you to bless them now and forever. Amen
