We're Always Excited to Welcome New Guests
At Main Street United Methodist Church, we are called to welcome all to be a part of our church family and join us in our faith journey. We take seriously our mission to serve God and serve people. So, whether you grew up in the church or are searching to connect with a faith community for the first time, we would love to connect with you.
What To Expect
When should I arrive?
Typically, you should arrive about 15 minutes before the worship service starts to allow plenty of time to make your way to the Sanctuary and find a seat.
What should I wear?
Our congregation comes from a variety of backgrounds and that is expressed in their attire. People dress for worship in everything from jeans or shorts to business attire. All are welcome!
Where do I park?
You can park in the front parking lot off Main Street. Walk around the front of the building to come to the main sanctuary entrance down the sidewalk.
You can also park in the back parking lot off Washington Street. If you park there, you can enter the double doors on that level and then take the stairs or elevator to the main floor where the sanctuary is located.
If both parking lots are full, there is also public parking along the street in the front and side of the church.
Who can help me find my way around the church and campus?
We have greeters at the Main sanctuary doors and the Washington Street doors. They can help direct you throughout the building. If you need to leave during the service, the ushers can help you find your way back out or to a rest room.
We also have signage throughout the building that clearly indicates where different rooms are to help all guests find their way around our campus.
Where can I bring my child for nursery care on Sunday morning?
Children are always welcome to stay in our worship services. If you would like to take your infant/toddler to the nursery, a greeter or usher can direct you to that classroom. It is on the same level of our building as the sanctuary. We have wonderful paid staff who work with faithful volunteers to offer loving care for all the little ones in the nursery. We also offer children’s church the second- fifth Sunday of each month for older children. A teacher will lead them to that classroom after the children’s message during the service. During the first Sunday of the month, children are invited to stay in the service in order to participate in Holy Communion with their families.
